Care Bears

Event: Care Bears "Live"
Venue: Sembawang Shopping Centre, Level 1 Atrium
Date: 8 - 13 Dec 2009
Time: 1pm and 7pm (Tue - Thu) / 1pm, 5pm and 7pm (Fri-Sun)

It's the Care Bears! We get to meet Love-A-Lot Bear, Share Bear and Funshine Bear today. I learnt the Care Bear hug. Seems like a lot of children like Care Bears. Even mummy likes them herself too! I'm very into taking pictures after all these shows. I told mummy I want to pose with the Care Bears alone. No stage fright at all now.

Kinder Joy

Definition from Wikipedia stated Kinder Surprise (from the German original Kinder-Überraschung), also known as a Kinder Egg (Kinder being the German word for "Children"), is a confection manufactured by Italian company Ferrero. Originally intended for children, it has the form of a chocolate egg containing a small toy, often requiring assembly.

Daddy got me one from Guardian today at $1.70. I've tried one before. And I love it! I sat and enjoyed the chocolate for a whole 25 min!

Lessons Learnt

And we are going to blog about two...

Lesson #1: Never roam about alone!

We were at Chinatown hawker centre next to the OG departmental store for lunch. Daddy was getting the food for us when I decided to start roaming around the place. The hawker centre at Chinatown is a very big one, mind you. I walked and walked and walked.... (without knowing mummy was following me behind secretly). I walked from one end to the other end, do a u-turn and walked back again. Mummy was thinking how could I be that calm and not realise I was alone until I stopped and asked an auntie who was just leaving her seat where my mummy was. But the auntie did not hear me and hence I started walking around the place again. Mummy followed on. It's almost 5 min when I started to get worried. I was scared and started crying. Mummy finally appeared and consoled me, of course not forgetting to lecture me for doing the disappearing act. I hugged her tight and promised her I would not run away again. Indeed, I obediently had my plate of rice without any attempts to walk away at all!

Lesson #2: Never step into a lift alone!

I had always liked to rush into a lift without waiting for my parents. Then one fine day, the lift door closed while I was in it. Thank goodness, I had not pressed any of the buttons and it opened when mummy anxiously pressed the lift button from outside. I learnt my lesson and of course, another lecture from mummy. Now, I always ask mummy to go into the lift first before I dare to step in!

Garfield & Friends Meet & Greet

Event: Garfield & Friends Meet & Greet
Venue: Chinatown Point
Date: 5, 12 & 19 Dec 2009 (Sat), 3pm & 5pm
Date: 6, 13 & 20 Dec 2009 (Sun), 1pm & 5pm

We were in time for the 1pm Garfield Meet & Greet after the movie and hence headed to Chinatown Point to take a look. There's no crowd and only less than 15 families there. There's only 2 dances by the cats and dog. It all ended with photo session in approx. 15 mins.

We headed to the hawker centre for my favourite char siew rice. A little incident happened prior lunch. Mummy will help me blog about this in a separate post. Note that during this meal, I had my food without creating much disturbance, behaving really well.

Planet 51

We received a free pair of movie tickets for the movie screening of "Planet 51" at The Cathay, compliments from OCBC Mighty Savers X'mas promotion. This includes serving of complimentary breakfast set and pre-screening fun time (face painting, photo-taking with the Mighty Savers). Entrance for me is free of course! I sat through the entire 90 min show eating my karihome goatie sweets and a packet of california raisins.

Bob The Builder

Event: Bob the Builder – The Sunflower Sailor
Join Bob, Wendy and Spud for a deep sea adventure as they set sail from Sunflower Valley in a LIVE 25 minute show!
Venue: JP1 Centrestage
Date: 5 – 13 Dec 2009 (except Mon)
Time: 1pm and 7.30pm

Today's agenda (dramatic day!) is to go catch Bob the Builder as well as to get a new tv. Our old heavy CRT Toshiba 34" SZ8UE is spoilt and we desperately need to have it replaced. Having forgotten the time while looking at the models, we missed getting the pass for the meet & greet session. We managed to get a seat though when the organisers decided to allow more people in. After the show, I started showing interest to get a photo taken with Bob the team (Mummy had instilled the excitement in me the past few days, singing the theme song along with me and telling me about today's performance). I am so excited and behaved really well as promised. I am terribly disappointed and had a meltdown when mummy said that there'd be no photo today (which is a surprise as I've always said, "I watch only, Yu Xiang dun want take picture har."). Daddy tries to convince me by having a photo taken by the side of the stage but I still insist standing with them. Mummy then reluctantly checked with the organiser auntie if I am allowed to join the photo taking queue. Oh Boy! Am I lucky! They still have 2 passes left! I am issued one, all tears dried up, grin happily, and wait patiently for my turn. I also decided to go up alone without daddy!

And oh yes... Our new Toshiba REGZA 42RV500E television at $1079. Hope it can last us for at least 5 years or more.

End of the day... I asked mummy in the car.... "妈妈,你生气吗?你不要生气呀! 我给你 sticker."

The Green Sheep Play

Mummy had wanted to give this play a miss when Mummy J strongly recommended the play. Hence here we are at Forum the Shopping Mall. No regrets. It is very entertaining and we enjoyed the performance.

The Green Sheep Play is an Australian classic by Mem Fox and Judy Horacek, directed by Cate Fowler. Co-Presenter Julia Gabriel. It's on from 21 Nov 2009 till 6 Dec 2009. 1 and 5pm (except Tues). Best for ages 1-6. Sing and dance in a world of puppets, musicians and actors in a "sheep pen". Singapore Premiere.

Daddy registered me for The Green Sheep Workshop at 1.45pm. It was fun and I get to go to 3 different activity stations creating puppet sheeps and crafts. Check out my artwork!

The Jungle Book Preview

Mummy brought me to Sembawang Library today to watch The Jungle Book Preview by The Little Company. The cast members' little sampling performance of a rock snake and a monkey is very entertaining.

Synopsis:
This is The Little Company’s unique adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s classic tale, The Jungle Book, which will take you and your little ones on a fun-filled adventure through the jungles of India. Join Mowgli, a boy raised by wolves, and his friends Bagheera, the panther and Baloo, the bear in this magical world where the animals can talk. This fantastic tale reinforces respect for life, embracing differences and the idea of harmony for all living things.

Asian Children Festival

We headed to Asian Children Festival at the National Library after our morning class at Right Brilliance. The Asian Children Fest is not very impressive as it is more suitable for older kids. However, we manage to receive a nice book of nursery rhymes and getting your child to read booklet. Had our lunch at Jack's place and head towards Suntec City to congratulate Uncle Raymond on his grand western stall opening.

A trip to JB

Daddy brought us to JB around 9am after our breakfast at Mac. It was a smooth journey without much traffic and we reached home by 1pm. Walked around City Square, insisted on buying a lollipop, had a fight with mummy over the lollipop and lastly, had our lunch at 茶餐厅. I loved the grilled fish spaghetti and had almost the whole plate by myself, leaving nothing much left for mummy. I even said, "Mummy, 你不要吃宇翔的har!"
